Learn MoreThe Young Buddhist Association of Malaysia (YBAM) is the leading Buddhist youth organization in Malaysia. Since its establishment in 1970, YBAM has upheld the mission of compassion, growth and liberation based on the teachings of the Buddha, promoting positive lifestyles and building a society rooted in wisdom, compassion and gratitude.
YBAM actively supports the development of Buddhist organizations nationwide, promoting Dhamma education among youth and providing leadership training opportunities. With YBAM’s foundational support, local Buddhist organizations have made remarkable progress in nurturing Buddhist communities across Malaysia.
YBAM coordinates over 270 member organizations across Malaysia through its 13 State Liaison Committees. It also supports university Buddhist societies, high school Buddhist societies, and youth Buddhist fellowships. YBAM is the only nationally recognized Buddhist youth organization acknowledged by the Malaysian government.
Through the study and practice of the Buddha’s teachings, we cultivate wisdom and right understanding, guiding young people to make wise decisions in modern society.
Following the compassionate spirit of the Buddha, we care for all sectors of society, engage actively in social services, and spread loving kindness.
We foster a mindset of gratitude, appreciate all that we have, and give back to society by building a harmonious and inclusive community.
We provide leadership training and personal development opportunities for youth, empowering them to become future pillars of society.
